01 — The Soldier
THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE.
My name is Dave Burke. 82nd Airborne Infantry. 3rd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, Charlie Company. The Rat Bastards. Vicenza, Italy.
I jumped out of planes across Europe. I stood on the Berlin Wall. I marched through Normandy. I was twenty years old and sure of everything.
Then I made a mistake. A terrible one. In one minute that was a lifetime, everything changed.

02 — The Long Road
THIRTY YEARS OF DARKNESS.
A crush injury. A mangled hand. Missing fingers. Rods in my wrist. 233 Percocets a month. 60 milligrams of morphine every 12 hours. A 12-pack to smooth the edges. A walking ghost.
Three times I tried to leave this world. Three times, something kept me here. It was not failure. It was grace.
Then a scroll came across the internet. A visionary surgeon and a professor from MIT, with support from Walter Reed Military Medical Center. An anatomically correct reconstruction with a bionic neural interface. I am one of eight people in the world who have had this procedure.
I made the decision to have my limb removed. In recovery, I felt it immediately. For the first time in thirty years: silence. No screaming nerve endings. Just quiet.
My surgeon looked directly in my eyes. Four words: Stay True To It.
The pain that had justified everything was gone. I met a guardian angel who introduced me to NAD+ and NMN. "I got your back." The direct cellular precursor that time and damage deplete. The fog started to lift.

I received the most advanced procedure in the world. The artificial limbs have not caught up to it yet. The cost has kept it out of reach for the people who need it most: anyone who has lost a limb and deserves to feel whole.
That is the mountain we will move.
